Company description
Forno Steno is a family business that, since 1920, in the province of Prato, produces biscuits and confectionery for a demanding and gourmand Italian and foreign clientele. Its distinctive features are craftsmanship, carefully chosen ingredients and the search for balance between tradition and innovation.
Alongside the traditional Biscotti di Prato and Cantuccini Toscani IGP, Forno Steno offers a lineup of original biscuits in the “cantuccio” shape: almonds, raisins, oranges, cocoa, chocolate and rum (the “Jamaica” biscuit), to name a but a few. Other baked goods are: Mantovana cake, tarts, plum-cakes, biscuits with jam or gianduja fillings, “whole wheat” biscuits with our own honey and olive oil, and biscuits that are characteristic of our area – Prato’s brutti boni, the zuccherini, Calvana’s stones and sweet truffles – all designated as Prodotti Agroalimentari Tradizionali (Traditional Agri-food Products) of Tuscany.

Traditional Tuscan farmer sweets, ring or fist shaped, with or without icing, in the past the zuccherini were always present in special occasions, usually with Vin Santo. They feature natural ingredients, a delicate aroma of anise and a great taste.
Four kinds of biscuits (chestnut flour and pine nuts, raisin and Vin Santo, olive oil and hazelnuts, candied lemon peels and extra-virgin olive oil) in a single box, made with our olive oil and flour and other locally sourced ingredients.
Two biscuits inspired by our land; one with chestnut flour and chocolate drops, the other with cocoa and candied orange peels.
Prato biscuits made according to the original recipe by Amadio Baldanzi found in the State Archive of Prato, the first to detail their making.
Brown round biscuits with an intense aroma of almonds. Made with grated almonds, egg whites and sugar. Crunchy outside and soft inside, supposedly ugly in shape but assuredly good in taste, they're typical biscuits of the Prato area.
